My husband and I moved into our house almost two years ago, but never did much with the decor because we weren’t absolutely certain what look we wanted to achieve. We painted our living room a few months after we moved in (a shade just a tad lighter than a Granny Smith apple), but haven’t done much since. Recently, we got fed up with how bare our walls are, and decided that we would spend some time every once in awhile driving around and photographing various things. From these photographs, we would make large sized prints to display on our walls.

This weekend was our first venture out (since I got caught up on editing client sessions). We headed to downtown Dallas on Sunday afternoon and drove around. Dallas has some really neat old architecture that I’ve always enjoyed, and now the city is focusing on revitalizing the downtown area with pedestrian friendly areas and safe parks for downtown residents to enjoy. Sometimes I completely forget how big our downtown skyline is, until I actually drive around down there and am surrounded by skyscrapers. It really is neat to just enjoy some of the little details without being overwhelmed by the sheer size of Dallas.
